Welcome to our Mission, Vision, Values and Belief Page

Trinity is a United Methodist Congregation: we embrace our history and the future.

With God’s help we are becoming a diverse, multi-generational community unified by our love for God and one another. We are centered in Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We strive to follow Christ so that together we are transformed and prepared to serve as God calls us. We embrace God’s call to be a church where:

  • Everyone can feel comfortable to come as you are with joys and burdens of everyday life.
  • Everyone can begin or continue their faith journey to learn more about God’s Loving Grace. Grace that transforms life and helps us to be more like Christ.
  • Everyone is valued and connected no matter where they are in their relationship with Jesus.
  • Everyone discovers God’s presence in their daily life and works toward fulfilling God’s plan for themselves.
  • We love one another by being presence and supportive in our community.
  • Local, regional and global missions are supported through our presence, our service and our finances.
  • We seek God’s direction to guide us through prayer.
  • We become better disciples for Jesus through our continued spiritual growth and growing love of our God.

  • Worship – We value worship as essential to spiritual growth, it is a time for renewal of the spirit as well as a time of celebration. Our spirit is renewed through the teachings of the Bible and we celebrate God’s love for us and our love for each other through sacraments, music and song.
  • Discipleship – We value discipleship quite simply because Jesus commanded us to make disciples. Discipleship is striving to live the life and spirit of Christ through our words, actions and deeds which results in others getting to know Christ.
  • Spiritual Growth – We value spiritual growth for children, youth and adults. This growth is supported through Sunday school, Bible Study, worship and fellowship.
  • Greatest Commandment - Jesus was asked: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments," (Matt 22:36-40, Amp).
  • Prayer - We value prayer as essential in maintaining a relationship with God, allowing us to hear God’s will, live out that call on our lives and to advocate for others.

What We Believe

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in God the Father, creator of all things, ever present, who loves all people unconditionally and who sent His only Son to be our savior.
  • We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, both fully human and fully divine, through whose life, death and resurrection we have forgiveness of sin and eternal life, and who will come again to judge the world and overcome evil.
  • We believe in God the Holy Spirit, God’s divine presence in our lives who comforts, guides and empowers us for ministry.
  • We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, relevant for all time and revealing God’s purposes for all creation.
  • We believe prayer to be a way in which we communicate with God, listen to God and intercede for others.
  • We believe the church is called by God to be the community of disciples of Jesus Christ, living out our faith by loving God and sharing God’s love with everyone in word and deed.
  • We believe salvation is the gift of grace offered and accepted through faith in Jesus Christ and made real in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.
